What can we understand from these scriptures?

As we read these Parables the direct message is clear. All of the heavens rejoice with the repentance of one sinner in the same way as the shepherd and the woman rejoiced at finding their lost sheep and coin. How often when we read these scriptures do we relate them to ourselves? I want to bring forth another scripture here that may add depth to the meaning here. It's so much bigger than we realize. Jesus did more than just atone for us, through him no sin will no longer have dominion over us. This is an enormous victory and the cause for celebration.

John 14:18-21
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Jesus is specifically telling us here that we share in his victory. We share in his inheritance. We belong with him and in him. Take a moment to really breath that in. We did not earn it, we couldn't. This is his gift to us.
